Doctor of Pharmacy/Doctor of Philosophy (Pharm.D./Ph.D.) Combined Degree Option in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers a combined-degree program by which a student in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or Professional) curriculum can begin work on a Ph.D. program while simultaneously pursuing the Pharm.D. degree. Key elements of the program are as follows.

  1. No additional time will be required for the student to complete their Pharm.D. degree.
  2. Through a judicious choice of electives and research rotations, the student can begin graduate coursework and research while enrolled as a Pharm.D. student, thus saving up to two years on the time required for the Ph.D. program.
  3. The student will be eligible for admission into the Graduate School following satisfactory completion of four years (typically two Pre-Pharmacy and two Pharm.D. years).
  4. No curricular compromises in either program are necessary.

Additional information can be found by reading the full Program Description.
