Admission to the Pre-Pharmacy program is done by the Purdue University Office of Admissions in conjunction with the School of Pharmacy. Acceptance into the Pre-Pharmacy program does not guarantee acceptance into the Pharm.D. program. The Pre-Pharmacy program objectives for preparation for the Pharm.D. program may be met through attendance at one of Purdue's partner schools.

Admissions Criteria

All students entering the Pre-Pharmacy program (for all undergraduate degree objectives) must meet or exceed the same entrance requirements, even when transferring from another major or institution. The minimum qualifications are listed on the Office of Admissions Website. Be sure to refer to the chart at the bottom of the page.

Overall Academic Record (including Test Scores)

All applicants must meet upper-half quality requirements for admission. This is based on grades, test scores, and courses taken in excess of the minimum.

Admission preference is given to students that apply before March 1. Preference is given to Indiana residents.

Application for Admission to the Pre-Pharmacy Program

The Pre-Pharmacy program is not intended for students interested in the BSPS program. BSPS students should follow the BSPS admissions and application process.

Application for admission into the Pre-Pharmacy program by students not already enrolled at Purdue is accomplished by applying for admission into the University with a Pre-Pharmacy major in the School of Pharmacy. Application is made to the Purdue University Office of Admissions. Both a traditional written application and an electronic application are available from that office. The written application should only be submitted if the prospective student is unable to use the online application. Applicants can be informed of their admission status by e-mail from the Office of admissions. Please note the preferential admission deadline for applications is March 1.

Before applying to the University, be sure to read all of the information from the Office of Admissions about eligibility and the admission process. Transfer students also are encouraged to read the appropriate sections of that site. International students are advised to read information from the International Students and Scholars (ISS) Office.

Current Purdue students in other majors that seek to transfer (CODO) into the Pre-Pharmacy program should contact their academic advisor in their current program about how to proceed. Due to space limitations, this may or may not be possible. All students must meet the admission requirements based on their High School academic record that is indicated above. There is a minimum of a 2.75 cumulative GPA required to CODO into Pre-Pharmacy. More information can be found at the VPSS Website, http://www2.itap.purdue.edu/registrar/advisors/categories.cfm.
