John aSchreiner
 February 24 - "A multifaceted career: Retail Pharmacy, Long Term Care Pharmacy, and Pharmacy History"
John is a graduate of Purdue University and began his pharmacy career in retail
pharmacy. He and his brother Paul, also a pharmacist, owned and operated a
chain of 7 independent retail drug stores until the late 80"s. It was during
his career in retail pharmacy that John began servicing long term care
facilities and had the idea to start another business in long term care
pharmacy. John started Care Pharmaceutical Services, a long term care pharmacy
and grew the business until the mid 90's when he sold it to a larger national
company named Omnicare. Over the span of 25 years while running his business he
had began to take an interest in pharmacy history and collecting pharmacy
artifacts and research materials. John now owns the History of Pharmacy
Research Center in Griffith,IN and has one of the largest collections of
pharmacy antiques and related items in the country.
Jenifer Schreiner
 February 24 - "Centralized Order Entry Pharmacy: New Options with High Tech Operating Systems"
Jenifer is a graduate of Purdue University and spent the first 9 years of her
career as a consultant pharmacist in long term care pharmacy. Jenifer then went
to work for the St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point,IN and worked as a clinical
pharmacist for 8 years. Jenifer is now employed by the Franciscan Alliance and
works at their centralized order entry pharmacy which focuses on off site order
entry of physician orders orders for its hospital locations from a remote
location to increase frequency of order entry for the electronic charting system
and minimize drug errors.
