Practice achievements: Dr. Trujillo has been a leader in developing the practice of critical care pharmacy. He has assisted with the initiation of a multidisciplinary surgical critical care team at Methodist Hospital. His passion for educating other about critical care was also seen when he developed critical care pharmacotherapy electives at both Purdue and Butler Universities. He was a co-founder of a PGY2 trauma critical care residency serving the two Level 1 trauma centers in Indianapolis. Dr. Trujillo has achieved the distinction, fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and American Society of Health-System Pharmacist. Dr. Trujillo also has put significant effort in developing and expanding residency training. Within IU Health he has increased the residency program to a total of 28 residents. He has been active with ASHP residency program accreditations surveys and has served as conference coordinator for Great Lakes Pharmacy Resident Conference since 2002. In his short tenure as director of pharmacy, he has been responsible for expanding pharmacy services to six new service lines.
