Development: Types of Gifts

The College of Pharmacy wants to work with you to ensure your gift is a rewarding investment for you. Use this Web site to help you make an informed decision or contact the College's Advancement Office to speak to someone directly about giving to the College.

Memorial Gifts

A gift in memory of a favorite professor, relative, student, or friend is a thoughtful and meaningful way to recognize someone's life and accomplishments.

For more information, e-mail us at dev@pharmacy.purdue.edu.

Planned Gifts

We realize that, as you consider a planned gift to the College, you must balance your family's needs, your personal lifestyle, and your financial resources with your love for the University and your wish to contribute to its preeminence.

Keeping this balance requires careful planning, and the Planned Giving Office at Purdue stands ready to help you make the most informed decision possible.

Planned giving provides you with the options and opportunities to include support of the College in your overall financial and estate plans. Planned gifts are generally gifts or commitments made in the present with the benefit to the College "deferred" until a future date. However, planned gifts may include outright gifts of appreciated property (securities and real estate) or gifts of tangible personal property.

For more information on the Planned Giving options, access the Planned Giving Website or e-mail plangift@purdue.edu.

Property/Real Estate

A residence, farm, vacation home, or other real estate may be given to The College of Pharmacy. A gift of real estate can make the full value of your property available and offer a variety of economic advantages, while leaving a lasting legacy at the College. The College will carefully evaluate each potential gift of land to make sure it will advance the College's mission.

For more information, e-mail us at dev@pharmacy.purdue.edu.

Securities/Stock Gifts

You can make a gift of stock or securities to Purdue. The procedure you follow depends upon who holds your securities:

Gifts-in-Kind

These gifts can include anything from gifts of personal property, books, or artwork.

Gifts of Services

College of Pharmacy supporters often donate gifts such as the right to use property or pledge to provide a service. These gifts provide significant support for the University. To determine the College's interest in the service you would like to provide, e-mail us at dev@pharmacy.purdue.edu.

Senior Class Gifts

The College of Pharmacy graduating candidates annually participate in raising awareness of giving and raising funds for a senior class gift to the College of Pharmacy. The seniors conduct a gift campaign with the support of the Advancement Office Staff. Seniors are encouraged to give during their final year in the College and are educated on both the institution's needs and the importance of their continued annual support. The Senior Class Gift Campaign is a wonderful way for students to leave a legacy to the College of Pharmacy and to keep that legacy going with continued support as alumni.

These projects range from student scholarships and faculty support to physical improvements to the College. For more information, access the Pharmacy Senior Class Gift website or e-mail us at dev@pharmacy.purdue.edu.
