Honors and Awards: Dr. Aziz Teaching AwardsThrough the generous gift of Hamad A. Abbaspour (BS Pharmacy 1985), the Dr. Aziz Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award is presented annually to recognize the School's Outstanding Teacher of the Year. The first Dr. Aziz Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award was presented to Dr. Eric L. Barker, Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs, College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences and Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, in April of 2007. Two other awards have been established in Dr. Aziz's memory. The first of these is the Dr. Aziz Preceptor of the Year Award. to recognize excellence among the preceptors who guide and mentor PharmD students during their experiential rotations. The other is the Dr. Aziz Experiential Learning Award, to recognize a faculty or staff member or volunteer who has contributed significantly to Experiential Learning. These may be given out in any year at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences with recommendations from the Office of Experiential Learning. (These two awards are not necessarily given annually and have not yet been awarded to anyone.) |
