Arda T. (Darnell) Sauté

Mrs. Sauté is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and received her B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1955. Her father, Harold Darnell, was a Purdue University Pharmacy graduate in 1929. While in high school and college, Mrs. Sauté worked at the Llanerch Pharmacy in Havertown, Pennsylvania. After graduation from Purdue, Mrs. Sauté worked in hospital administration in Philadelphia until marrying Robert Sauté in 1957.

In 1975, Mrs. Sauté played a key role in the formation of Sauté Consultants, Inc., a California corporation. There she is responsible for the administration of the company and the development of products in make-up, skin care, and hair care from production through manufacturing. Mrs. Sauté has developed pharmaceutical and cosmetic products for companies nationally and internationally.

Mrs. Sauté is an active member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and has served on the board of directors and chaired several committees. She is a member of Kappa Epsilon and Beauty Industry West.

Mrs. Sauté is an active supporter of the arts and is an accomplished painter in oils in acrylics. Her paintings are exhibited widely. She and her husband enjoy traveling and have been to over thirty countries. They are members of All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills, Japanese American Museum, Los Angeles county Museum of Art, and the Santa Monica Heritage Museum. They have three sons and five grandchildren. Richard is president of Cosmetic Enterprises, Ltd., a private label manufacturer of cosmetics and OTC drugs (Mrs. Saute serves as treasurer for the board of directors of Cosmetic Enterprises). Steven has an MBA from Pepperdine University and is president of Zerran International Corporation, a distributor of professional hair care products (Mrs. Saute is secretary for the board of directors of the corporation). Allen has a M.S. from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo and is a science teacher at Sequoia Middle School in Newbury Park, California.
