Chris T. Dimos

Chris Dimos was born and raised in northwest Indiana, the son of John and Marianne Dimos. From the time he was seven years old, he worked in the family restaurant. His father was an entrepreneur who provided Chris with opportunities to experience other family owned businesses such as the catering business, package liquor store, and business consulting services.

It was while working in the family restaurant that he was influenced by a family friend to become a pharmacist. This friend of the family would come to the restaurant and work with the family for a change of pace. Chris was so impressed by the integrity, knowledge and character of that pharmacist that he decided he would be a great person to emulate.

He enrolled in the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1988 with a BS in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. After graduation, he first worked with Syncor Radiopharmaceuticals and Hook's Drugs. While working at Hook's he attended Indiana University Business School. In 1989, Chris accepted a position with Osco Drug. He has stayed with Osco Drug as they have transpired through acquisitions to become part of American Drug Stores, American Stores, Albertsons, and now SuperValu. Throughout his career journey from Osco Drugs to SuperValu, Chris has held several positions within the organization from staff Pharmacist to President of Pharmacy Operations. Along the way Chris has held both field and corporate roles. Pharmacist, Pharmacy manager, and district management were some of the most rewarding field positions as they were the closest to the patients. In corporate roles he was able to be part of teams that trained pharmacists, recruited new pharmacists, developed dispensing technology, design and build software applications, and be involved with the managed care and procurement of product for community based pharmacies.

Chris is a member of the FMI Pharmacy Services Program, The NACDS Pharmacy Industry Council, The NACDS Policy Council, and Purdue University School of Pharmacy Dean's Advisory Council. In August of 2007 Chris received the Novartis Pharmaceutical Alliance Award. This award recognized Chris for leadership, commitment, and service to the chain pharmacy industry. From February 2004 to January 2007, Chris was Chair of NACDS Policy Council Workgroup on Supply Chain. He was Chairman, Illinois Pharmacists Association and Illinois Council of Health Systems Pharmacists Joint Committee on Technician Certification from January 1996 to January 1997 and a past member of the Purdue University Northwest School of Management Dean's Advisory Council.

In 1990, Chris married Theresa who is also a pharmacist and 1988 graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy. They have two sons, Trace 11 and Drew 14, and currently reside in Downers Grove, Illinois. As a family they enjoy travel, skiing, and soccer soccer soccer.

In his current position of President of SuperValu Pharmacy, Chris is responsible for over 900 pharmacies and a corporate staff of over 200.
