Fiocco, Jr.B.S., Pharmacy, Temple University, School of Pharmacy, 1982 Mr. Fiocco received a B.S. in Pharmacy from Temple University in 1982. Mr. Fiocco then pursued a career in the pharmaceutical industry in technical operations. In 1982, he joined Schering-Plough in New Jersey as a process validation engineer. He held progressively more responsible positions culminating in the Plant Manager in 1988. Mr. Fiocco held this position until 1990 when he was promoted to General Manager, Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. Here he had total operational responsibility for a 500 person manufacturing plant. In 1994, Mr. Fiocco returned to New Jersey as the Senior Director, New Jersey Operations. In this position, he was responsible for three manufacturing plants, supporting sales of $4 billion. Mr. Fiocco hosted several off-site training programs for FDA inspections. In 2000, Mr. Fiocco joined Baxter Healthcare Corporation's BioScience Group as Vice President of Manufacturing at the production facility in Los Angeles, California. He was responsible for an 1,100 employee biological plant which produces therapeutic proteins used to treat life-threatening diseases, including hemophilia and immune disorders. The Los Angeles plant is recognized as the world's largest therapeutic protein production facility. He is responsible for quality management, manufacturing, engineering, technical services, human resources, materials management, safety and finance. He was also responsible for managing the product supply relationship with the American Red Cross. In addition, Mr. Fiocco was responsible for a $150 million facility expansion project at the Los Angeles site. Mr. Fiocco has received several recognition awards in leadership, management development and management excellence. Mr. Fiocco is a strong supporter of Purdue University and the School of Pharmacy. He has been a member of the National Science Foundation (NSF)/Purdue University Cooperation Research Center, serves as a member of the Dean's Advisory Council and was recognized as an outstanding supporter of the Pharmacy Minority Program. In addition, Mr. Fiocco has been a guest lecturer at Purdue University and has been a key figure in the student summer internship program and industry career mentoring. Mr. Fiocco is a registered pharmacist in New Jersey and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Pharmaceutical Association and the Parenteral Drug Association. Mr. Fiocco was a board member for the Easter Seals Foundation (NJ), The Salvation Army (PR), and the Children's Hospital (PR). Art's wife, Deborah, is a graduate of the College of New Jersey, and is an artist whose work is currently displayed throughout Puerto Rico and the United States. The couple has two children, Michael and Julie Ann. Michael is a junior at Purdue, majoring in English/Pre-law. Michael is a Dean's Ambassador at Purdue University's School of Liberal Arts. Julie Ann is currently a high school senior and was selected first team All-County Honors in tennis. Julie Ann will attend Purdue in the fall of 2002. The family enjoys golf, tennis and jogging. |
