Donor Recognition Brunch - October 28, 2006

On Saturday, October 28, 2006 the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated our generous alumni and friends at the annual Donor Recognition Brunch. Dean Svensson welcomed over 200 people, including students, faculty, alumni and donors who participated in the occasion at the University Inn in West Lafayette. Lively remarks were given by Michael B. McMains (BS '81) as the group enjoyed their brunch. Scholarship recipients had the opportunity to meet with the donors who are helping to make their education possible. Linda Yelton, Manager of Stewardship, recognized the many donors who were present. Closing remarks were given by Associate Dean Holly Mason. Following the brunch, loyal Boilermakers departed for Ross-Ade Stadium, where Purdue took on Penn State. Other than the final score of the game, all agreed it was a great celebration.

Jeannie (BS '61) and Jim Chaney were in town for the dedication of the CVS/pharmacy Practice Laboratory.		Mark Brown, 4th year professional student, (left) and members of the Cunningham family represent the late Thomas Cunningham (BS '60) in whose name a scholarship was established.
Professor Emeritus Robert V. Evanson (BS '47, MS '49, Ph.D. '53).		Chuck (BS '57, HDR '94) and Madonna (BS '58) Flemming. Chuck and Madonna established the Charles V. and Madonna Dienhart Flemming Pharmacy Fund in 1998.
Steve (BS '76, DPHAR '78) and Cathy Scott. Mrs. Scott's grandfather, Maurice Goodnight (PhC '31) established the Earl, Maurice and Thelma Abel Goodnight Pharmacy Scholarship in 1983.		Gretchen Logan and her sister, Jane Finneran. A scholarship fund was established with gifts in memory of Mrs. Logan's late husband, Rodger D. Logan (BS '49).
Camilla Lawson, center rear, and family attended the brunch representing the Raymond A. McCullough Pharmacy Scholarship established in 2000 by Mrs. Lawson's father, Ray McCullough.		In honor of the late Robert G. Railing (BS '81) a scholarship was established by his wife Kelly McNulty Railing, shown here, and family and friends.
Virginia "Ginny" Tyler, has established the Tyler Scholarship in memory of her late husband, Dr. Varro "Tip" Tyler (HDR '99), who was Dean of the School of Pharmacy from 1966 - 1986.		Marla Barger and Catherine Simmons (BS '88) attended representing corporate partner Walgreens.
Corporate Partner Eli Lilly and Company was represented by Maria Bowman-Horner (BS '81).		Jay Kyle Lawson (BS '87, DPHAR '01), represented the Kroger Company, a member of the Corporate Partner program.
Supervalu Incorporated, our newest Corporate Partner, was represented by L. Steven Keen Jr. (BS '81).		Frank (Ph.D. '59) and Joan Goodhart created the Goodhart Family Graduate Fund.
