The 2007 Pharmacy Graduation Banquet was held on April 27th in the North and South Ballrooms of the Purdue Memorial Union. The ballrooms were filled with the 2007 Graduation class, their families and pharmacy faculty and staff. The evening was about celebrating the Class of 2007, their accomplishments and their bright futures.

Pharmacy student and Purdue Band member, Alex Chiaghana, Jr. and a couple of his friends entertained everyone with beautiful jazz music during the reception. Posters from the poster session earlier in the day were on display.

Class members Cyrus Cheeseman and Aaron Craft served as emcees for the evening. Dean Craig Svensson started the evening with a few words of encouragement and congratulations to the Class of 2007. Dean Holly Mason recognized the award winners from the class.

Lynn Tenbarge, Rola Kaakeh and John Bossaer joined Cyrus and Aaron in recognizes a few of their classmates and their unique accomplishments! Lynn and John shared several inspirational quotes from pharmacy faculty! Chad Fuentes gathered pictures of the class for a wonderful slide show that played during dinner.

Brian Shepler came forward and recognized Christy Nash as the Outstanding Faculty Preceptor. Jeff Cole was recognized as the Preceptor of the Year!

Rola Kaakeh talked to her classmates about the importance of staying involved with Purdue and the Purdue Alumni Association. Rola talked about what an important part of the Purdue family alumni are!

The evening ended with an update on the Senior Class Gift project. The Class of 2007 has 44% participation rate which ties them for the all time high percentage rate!

Mark Brown was awarded the ASP Senior Recognition Award, the Facts and Comparisons Award for Excellence in Clinical Communications, a Phi Beta Kappa Award and the APhA-McNeil Award for Professionalism.		Dean Svensson and the nominees for the H.George DeKay Award: Kelly Williams, Lynn Tenbarge, William Carroll, Mark Brown and Nathan Riecke.
Will Carroll was awarded the H. George DeKay Award.		Vyto Damasius was awarded the NCPA Outstanding Student Award and the Glaxo Smith Klinke Patient Care Award.
Lisa Kampschmidt receives the Tippecanoe County Pharmaceutical Association Award for Excellence in Hospital Pharmacy Clerkship.		Patricia A. Stefanek receives the Pharmacists Letter Award.
Dean Svensson and Mark Allanson award the USPHS Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy Practice Award to Rola Kaakeh.		Kallopi Fitousis receives the Practice Excellence Award.
The Roche Pharmacy Communications Award is presented to Aaron Craft.		The Teva Pharmaceuticals Outstanding Student Award is presented to Kira Larimore.
The Mylan Excellence in Pharmacy Award is presented to Katherine Behr.		Laura Smith receives the Pharmacy Alumni Leadership Award.
Hamid Abbaspour, representing Dr. Aziz's family, recognizes Eric Barker as the Dr. Aziz Teacher of the Year Award.		Dean Svensson recognizes Colin Fitzgerrel, William Carroll and Erika Wesby as the winners of the Clini-doc Awards for Clinical Interventions.
