Donor Recognition Brunch - October 20, 2007

It is amazing to think that another year has already gone by, but on Saturday, October 20, 2007 over 200 donors, students, faculty and staff celebrated our annual Donor Recognition Brunch at the Holiday Inn Select - City Centre in downtown Lafayette.

The Donor Brunch is one of our favorite events, because it gives us a chance to thank you personally for your loyalty and dedication to our faculty, staff, and particularly our students. Your generosity provides the extra impetus many of our students need to make it over the hurdles of college life. The Brunch also gives donors an opportunity to meet and visit with the students who are the beneficiaries of their generosity.

This year we were fortunate to have a dynamic guest speaker, Dr. Mary B. Baker, BS '79 and Senior Medical Manager at Hospira in Lake Forest, Illinois. Mary provided an alumna's perspective on the School of Pharmacy that was both enlightening and entertaining. Megan Battles, 2nd Professional Year PharmD student and president of our Student Council gave us the student's eye view of the many benefits of receiving scholarship funds.

Whether or not you were able to join us for the Brunch, I want thank you all for your continuing support of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. If you are ever scheduling a visit on or near campus, please let me know and I will make every effort to arrange a tour of the School and an opportunity for you to meet some of our exemplary students.

Regards,

Linda A. Yelton
Manager of Stewardship
