Class of 1958 Reunion - April 11-13, 2008

The Purdue Pharmacy Class of 1958 returned to campus on April 11th thru the 13th for the 50th Class Reunion! Seventeen class members along with their spouses attended a reception on Friday evening. Everyone was greeted by Dr. Patrick Belcastro and his wife, Hannah, and Dean Craig Svensson and his wife, Sue. Old photos from 1958 were on display at the reception. The class had fun finding themselves as well as old friends.

On Saturday, the Class of 1958 attended the Pharmacy open house, Spring Fling. The event is sponsored annually by the Pharmacy Student Council. There were activities for young and old alike. The alumni also enjoyed two back to class sessions. Dr. Belcastro talked about how things have changed over the last fifty years as well as gave an update on former faculty. Ellen Schellhase and her student Bhumi Patel gave an overview of the Kenya rotation! It is amazing the experiences these students have!

Finally, the School of Pharmacy hosted a breakfast for the class of 1958. The food was great and it was nice to hear about the wonderful time had by all. The Purdue Alumni Association sponsored the Loyalty Lunch where the Class of 1958 received their forever medals from Dr. Steven Beering, President Emeritus.

The Pharmacy Faculty and Staff were sad to say goodbye to our 1958 alumni, but we hope the Class of 1958 will come back to campus again very soon!
