Distinguished Alumni Reunion Weekend - November 13-14, 2009

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, in celebration of our 125th Anniversary, invited our Distinguished Alumni back to campus for a reunion weekend. The weekend was kicked off early with a reception in the Buchanan Suite of Ross-Ade stadium. Distinguished Alumni, faculty and staff of the School enjoyed the beautiful setting and reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

On Friday morning, the Distinguished Alumni took a bus tour of campus with stops at the Chao Center, Birck Nanotechnology Center, and the Dauch Alumni Center. The afternoon was filled with the 7th annual Garnet Peck Symposium, entitled "Emerging Trends in Health Care".

The Distinguished Alumni Reunion Dinner was held at the University Plaza Hotel on Friday evening. Retired faculty, current faculty, and Distinguished Alumni enjoyed reconnecting with each other. The 125th DVD was unveiled during the reception. Emcee Katie MacFarlane Phillips did a great job! Katie outlined the Distinguished Alumni Reunion fundraising project, the Renovation of RHPH 172. Kimberly Beckman, President of the Pharmacy Student Council, thanked the group on behalf of all the Schools students for their assistance with this project. The entire student body is grateful for this gift, and they have made a video thanking our Distinguished Alumni. The Purduettes did a fabulous job entertaining the group at dinner. Also during dinner, Greg Wasson received his 2009 Distinguished Alumni award as his lovely wife and daughters looked on.

The weekend ended with a brunch at the University Plaza Hotel on Saturday morning before the big game. It was a nice quiet breakfast that gave everyone a chance to say goodbye.
