Classes of 1980 and 1981 Reunion - Nov. 12-13, 2010

Classmates from the classes of 1980 and 1981 gathered during November 12-13 in celebration of their 30th reunion. Several classmates started off the weekend with a round of golf at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex as they played the Kampen course. On Friday, guests were also invited to attend the Varro E. Tyler Lecture in the morning, followed by roundtable discussions with Pharmacy students after lunch.

A tour of the Pharmacy building and campus was given later that afternoon. The tour began in the G-16 Pharmacy Practice Lab where fellow 1981 classmate Jane Krause, Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, shared how the facilities have changed since their time at Purdue. Mary Losey, Faculty Emeritus, also welcomed the students whom she taught back to campus and reminisced about her time as an instructor. Even Elizabeth Chalmers, who served as advisor of Kappa Epsilon with Losey, made an appearance and welcomed guests. The tour continued through the building where Faculty Emeritus Patrick Belcastro and Stan Shaw as well as current faculty Stan Hem and Steve Byrn greeted their former students. Each gave a brief refresher on the classes they would have taught the Classes of 1980 and 1981.  The evening was capped off by a reunion dinner. The group was entertained by a wonderful performance by the Purduettes. Reunion chairman, Marv Richardson and Mike McMains gave an overview of the reunion as well as an update on the Class of 1980 and 1981 fundraising project.

Alumni gathered the following morning for a Pharmacy tailgate prior to the Purdue vs. Michigan football game at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex pavilion.  It was a great ending the reunion weekend.  Alumni enjoyed reconnecting with classmates and reminiscing about old times.
