On November 10, 2011, Dr. David Bates visited the College of Pharmacy and served as the 2011 Varro E. Tyler Distinguished Lecturer. Dr. Bates, renowned expert on Medication Safety, gave a presentation on Improving Medication Safety Using HIT - Recent Development. College of Pharmacy faculty, staff, and students enjoyed the lecture. The College along with the Pharmacy Practice department hosted this year's event and presented Dr. Bates with a plaque to honor the occasion.
