Create or open a VPN connection to ITaP's VPN server. Specific instructions are available at http://webvpn.purdue.edu/. For support issues with the VPN, please contact ITaP directly by calling 49-44000 or e-mailing itap@purdue.edu.
- On the Desktop or after clicking the Start button, right-click on My Computer, and then left-click "Map Network Drive..."
- Choose which drive letter you want to map the drive to in the Drive drop-down list. The standard is U: for your personal drive, and S: for the shared drive.
- Next to the Folder textbox, type in one of the following:
- \\files.pnhs.purdue.edu\username, where username is your career account login, for your U: drive
- \\files.pnhs.purdue.edu\shared, for the S: drive:
- Make sure the checkbox next to Reconnect at logon is selected if you wish to have this drive appear each time you restart your computer.
- If you normally log into this computer with your Purdue Career account, skip to the next step. Otherwise, if you are using Windows XP, click on the underlined text "different user name". and enter your Purdue career account credentials when prompted. It may be necessary to enter "ONEPURDUE\username". If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, check the box that says "Connect using different credentials".
- Click OK.
- Click Finish.
- The U: (or S:) drive should appear in My Computer.
