Connecting to Purdue from the Internet
|
Many Purdue computer resources are available from any point on the Internet without further identification. Examples of these would be email, web pages, and courseware systems. However, some services are restricted to computers on the Purdue campus. A relevant example of these would be accessing the several file servers in the College of PNHS. It is possible to create a "Virtual Private Network" ("VPN") so that your computer acts like part of the Purdue network, even though it is located somewhere else. The College of Pharmacy does not provide its own VPN service. However, the University does provide such services. Visit http://webvpn.purdue.edu/ for an overview, and follow the appropriate link(s) on that page for more information. If you have difficulties with the VPN, please contact the ITaP help desk at 494-4000, or email itap@purdue.edu. |
