Alex Kelly (BS, 1989)
Executive VP, Corporate Affairs and Chief Communications Officer at Allergan
Alex Kelly is on the run. Whether it’s for his day job as the EVP of Corporate Affairs and Chief Communications Officer at Allergan, in his work with healthcare boards, with his wife and five children or chasing his 100 miles per month running goal.
Alex, a pharmacist by training, leads a fast-paced team at Allergan focused on Government Affairs, Public Relations, Media Relations, Patient Advocacy and Corporate Communications. Allergan is best known as the maker of Botox™, but that is only part of the story. Allergan also makes innovative medical products for Alzheimer’s disease, depression, migraine, glaucoma, breast reconstruction and gastrointestinal disease.
Passionate about healthcare, Alex serves as the Chairman of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey, Vice Chair of the California Life Sciences Association and President of The Allergan Foundation.
Alex has led investor relations, communications and front-line sales teams over his 30+ year career at Allergan, Bausch & Lomb, Merck, Schering-Plough, Novartis and Pharmacia. He also led the integration teams following two major healthcare mergers.
A proud Boilermaker, Alex earned a Pharmacy degree from Purdue University in 1989. He and his wife Robyn try to keep up with their five kids ages 13-28. As a result, Robyn is on a path to sainthood and Alex is doing his best to ride her coattails.
Alex enjoys vacationing, cooking and eating with his family, and has a longstanding goal of running 100 miles per month ... to enable more cooking and eating.
