Fatima Kahn is from Los Angeles, California and has loved her time in Indiana. When she’s not studying, she loves spending her time with family, friends and dog, Mosby. Her areas of interest include mental health and substance use disorder, which she has explored through various ways, including CPNP/BoilerWoRx. She hopes to pursue a career in psychiatric pharmacy and help make a valuable impact! Fatima is also involved in several organizations, including College of Psychiatric & Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP), Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and Phi Lambda Sigma

How has Purdue College of Pharmacy giving impacted your education and enhanced your experience as a student?

The College of Pharmacy has helped me make lasting relationships with my peers and faculty. Through various organizations, I’ve been able to strengthen my leadership skills and foster those skills in younger students. Also, I appreciate the level of importance the college places on mentorship as I’ve been able to learn more about different career opportunities within pharmacy and ways to achieve those goals through my mentors!

How is Purdue helping prepare you for your next “Giant Leap” in life? Your career after Purdue.

The next “Giant Leap” in my life will be pursuing post-graduate pharmacy training. Purdue has provided me with tons of opportunities to learn more about my options and ways to get there through pharmacist panels, elective courses, and shadowing experiences!

What’s your favorite Purdue memory?

My favorite Purdue memory is being a mentor to an elementary school student through College Mentors for Kids. I loved seeing my little buddy each week and participating in fun activities together. It was a great way to de-stress and take a break from studying!
