Pharmacy Alumni Receive Top AACP Awards
August 3, 2016 - The Purdue College of Pharmacy is pleased to announce that two of our Distinguished Alumni were honored with two of the highest awards presented by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) during its Annual Meeting held in Anaheim, California, last week.
Terry Schwinghammer (BS 1973, PharmD 1977) received the Robert K. Chalmers Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award for his outstanding achievements as an educator and mentor, his innovations in the classroom, and his overall impact on pharmacy education and the profession. Terry is the first PharmD student of the late Dr. Chalmers to receive this award. He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at West Virginia University.
Albert Wertheimer (PhD 1969) received the Paul R. Dawson Award for his exceptional contributions to teaching and scholarship that have positively impacted the quality of patient outcomes. He is currently Professor of Pharmacy Economics at Temple University School of Pharmacy.
