Pharmacy Faculty Achievements
November 4, 2016 - Please join the College of Pharmacy in congratulating the following faculty on their recent achievements.
Dr. Mark Cushman, Distinguished Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, has been awarded a patent for his work entitled, “Synthesis and use of dual tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase I (TDP1)-topoisomerase 1 (TOP1) inhibitors”. This work describes dual inhibitors that are being developed for the treatment of cancer.
Dr. Emily Dykhuizen, Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, is the recipient of an award from The V Foundation for Cancer Research to support her project entitled, “Chromatin targeting by the bromodomains of PBRM1, a tumor suppressor subunit of the P-BAF chromatin remodeling complex”. This award is for $100,000 and covers November 1, 2016 through November 1, 2017.
