Pharmacy Faculty Appointments, Awards, and Honors
Please join the Purdue College of Pharmacy in congratulating the following faculty on these recent appointments, awards, and honors.
Dr. V. Jo Davisson, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, is the recipient of the 2015 Chaney Faculty Scholarship Award. This annual award is the highest honor presented by the Purdue College of Pharmacy to recognize outstanding research, scholarship, or creative activity including professional accomplishments in the recipient's field.
Dr. Kim Plake, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, has been elected as an APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS) Fellow. She will be formally inducted at the APhA annual meeting in Baltimore in March 2016.
Dr. Steve Scott, Associate Head for Education of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, has been appointed President-elect of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. He will serve a three year obligation as president-elect, president, and past president.
Dr. Margie Snyder, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, has been selected to receive the APhA Community Pharmacy Residency Excellence in Precepting Award. The award will be presented during the APhA annual meeting in Baltimore in March 2016.
Dr. Richard Van Rijn, Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, is a recipient of a 2015 NARSAD Young Investigator Grant from the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation to support his project entitled “Development of novel designer G-protein coupled receptors to study the role of beta–arrestin 2 biased signal transduction in anxiety disorders.”
Dr. Kellie Jones Weddle, Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice, has been elected as a Fellow of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association. She will be formally inducted at the annual conference of the Association in March 2016.
