Pharmacy Faculty Receive External Funding for Research

Please join the Purdue College of Pharmacy in congratulating the following faculty who have recently received external funding for their research.

  • Dr. Karen Hudmon, Professor of Pharmacy Practice - “Bringing Indiana Along” (tobacco prevention and cessation program), Indiana State Department of Health, $250,000 (July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2017).
  • Dr. Carol Post, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology - “NMR Structure of Peptide and Protein Complexes”, NIH R01, $1,295,718 (September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2019). This will represent a cumulative 25 years of funding for this grant.
  • Dr. Chris Rochet, Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology - “Vesicle permeabilization associated with membrane–induced aSyn aggregation: Role in Parkinson's disease", Branfman Family Foundation, $200,000 (August 1, 2015 to July 31, 2017).
  • Dr. Lynne Taylor, Professor of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy - “The effect of compound aggregation on drug metabolism and transport”, Lilly Research Laboratories, $265,000 (August 24, 2015 to August 23, 2017); “Pharmaceutical Engineering 2015 GAANN”, Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need Program grant to support graduate education, $442,917 (September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2018).
  • Dr. Jim Tisdale, Professor of Pharmacy Practice – “Influence of testosterone administration on drug–induced QT interval prolongation and Torsades de Pointes”, American Heart Association, $143,000 (July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2017).
  • Dr. Val Watts, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology - “Understanding adaptive signaling of neuronal adenyly cyclases using siRNA”, NIH, $889,017 (September 1, 2015 to June 30, 2017).
