Carrie Morton, PharmD, MBA is the Vice President of Centers of Excellence for Deaconess Health System, an 11 hospital health system based in Evansville, IN.  After becoming the System Administrative Director for Pharmacy Services she expanded her responsibilities to also oversee laboratory and radiology services.  Dr. Morton later transitioned into a newly created VP Centers of Excellence role where she oversees cardiovascular, gastroenterology, mental health, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and vascular services.  Prior to arriving at Deaconess Health System in 2009, Dr. Morton worked as a Pharmaceutical Chemist at Eli Lilly and Company and the Pharmacy Manager at Riley Hospital for Children.

 Under Dr. Morton’s leadership Deaconess Health System Pharmacy won the Indiana Pharmacy Association (IPA) Medication Safety Award for an Organization for their commitment to safety in 2016 and Dr. Morton received the Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award in 2017.  Dr. Morton has served in various roles supporting American Society of Health System Pharmacists and served a 3 year term as IPA President.  Dr. Morton’s passion to give back can continue to be seen through her work as Chairman of the EVSC Foundation and participation on IPA’s Legislative and Regulatory Council.  Dr. Morton was named one of Evansville Business Journals “Top 20 Under 40.”

Dr. Morton lives in southern Indiana with her husband, Josh, and three children, Ella (14), Jude (11) and Nora (9).  She keeps busy coaching her daughter’s softball team and cheering all of her kids on in their many activities.  Dr. Morton’s hobbies include anything her kids are into, hiking, skiing, involvement in community / church activities and most recently Carrie has participated in 2 Ironman 70.3 events and is signed up for her 3rd Ironman 70.3 race!
