John graduated from Purdue with a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences in May 1999. He quickly jumped into the realm of pharmaceutical compounding, helping found Hook’s Apothecary - the first compounding-only pharmacy in Indiana - in October, 1999. After serving as President and principal owner for 13 years, he moved to Houston to begin a career at Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) – working in marketing & training, before helping establish a new department within the company – Public Affairs. After serving as Director of Legislative Relations for two years, John moved to the industry’s trade association – the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists – to serve as their Executive Vice President.

John moved back to Indiana in 2017 to his previous role as President and primary owner of Hook’s Apothecary. Working directly with patients and prescribers to solve their medication challenges, we continue to serve our community across all facets of medicine, including pediatrics, dermatology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, and veterinary medicine. John’s current primary roles include leadership of our team, business administration, regulatory compliance, creation of new formulations and special research projects. He and his wife Tara (BSPharm 99) have three children and three dogs and in his spare time, John enjoys volunteering, trapshooting & watching Purdue football and basketball.
