Susan’s commitment to pharmacy expertise and quality extended beyond central Indiana. She served as President of the Indiana Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ISHP), served on the faculty of ASHP National Institutes, and delivered presentations at the state and national level. She authored a chapter in ASHP’s book Basic Skills in Clinical Pharmacy Practice. She was active on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety. She received recognition as a Patient Safety Hero and as a finalist for the ASHP Excellence in Medication Use Safety Award.
After 40 years at Franciscan St. Francis Health, Susan retired to Boulder, Colorado, to pursue her interests in painting, quilting, hiking, traveling, and service.
