Description: What are the limitations of the disease model of addiction and what are its benefits? If we want to call addiction a disease, then we must ask what kind of a disease is it. Unless we challenge a medicalized vision of addiction, I argue, we will be hampered in understanding the roots of the opioid crisis and the implementation of remedies.
