Zhou receives $2.4M to fight antimicrobial resistance

Tony Zhou, associate professor of industrial and molecular pharmaceutics, recently received a third National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant to support his world-leading research program in developing novel inhalation therapeutics fighting antimicrobial resistance.

The $2.4 million grant was awarded to Zhou to lead a multi-national team of top antimicrobial experts from Australia, Thailand, and the US, to fight the issue.

Development staff changes under way

The College of Pharmacy development team is in a semester of transition. In the months ahead, Dan Bolsen will step away from his current responsibilities, including his role as Chief Development Officer for the college, to take on a newly created role within the Purdue for Life Foundation (PFLF). Additionally, Carrie Bright recently joined the Pharmacy team as a director of development, filling a vacancy left by Erica Stickler’s previous promotion.

Purdue College of Pharmacy students selected for scholars program

Ten Purdue College of Pharmacy students were chosen for the Indiana Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Scholars program as part of a national initiative to help students of health professions improve their practice readiness skillsets.

The competitive program is specifically designed for students who want to provide care to residents of rural and medically underserved communities across Indiana.
